Book for a Lady in NZ

I am posting a few pics here, but not a lot as it will giveaway who the book is for.
Its done for a swap in NZStampers yahoo group as a mystery book. EAch person had to choose 5 words that they wanted interpreted. This one turned into a journal. I'm wishing I could keep it for myself, but I can make another one.
When the recipient has it I will post more pics so the theme can be then be revealed. Sorry the clean up is not good. I will fix it over the weekend

Easter Greetings

Hope everyone is having a good Easter weekend and not eating too many chocolate eggs.
Paul's school had a Easter Hat parade on Thursday, this is the hat that he and I made for him. He was so excited, it came home still in one piece but had some chocolate eggs in the nest part of the top.

Tori loves slides and the bigger the better. On Good Friday we took the kids out to Yarra Valley Play ground, they have some awesome play equipment there for the children, roundabouts that you don't see in most play areas.

Paul was off climbing the web, so I didn't get many photos of him. I did get this one of him up on the web, he is as pleased as punch with himself, can you tell LOL. He needs a haircut too. :-)

Scrumptious Mail

arrived at my place today from Humpty Doo NT from the wonderful Annette Husband.
She sent me a lovely card when she knew I was going back into hospital and also went to her local Dollars and Sense to buy me some flowers etc for the Finnabair effect, as we don't have one nearby. The flowers can be colored with the dylusions etc and  are fantastic and there is a lovely bag full off goodies that are obviously from Annette's stash. THANK YOU SO MUCH you wonderful lady.

The card is lovely and altho it looks blue here it is actually more purple, my favourite color and I love Dance (Ballet) so the picture is so apt for me, pity my knee prevents me from doing any dancing at the moment.

Finnabair Classes at Scrappy Hollow

I had a fabulous time at Scrappy Hollow last Saturday, joined by 2 of my BFF Bevlea and Lucy to partake of some classes with Finnabair from Poland, she was a fabulous tutor and her helper Rae from Darwin.

This was a fabulous day, The kits that were provided were amazing as were the goodies bags from Scrappy Hollow. Thank you to Rae from Darwin for making up the kits for the classes. Now I need to get out my Luminarte polished pigments and mix up some silk paints to use.

School Starts for Paul

Our little boy started school last week. He loved it, and still does 3 days into it.

Half day for the first couple of days. Mummy and Aunty Ruth and Christian came to pick me up.

Next year will be Toris turn. At least she will have big brother there to help her out.

Keeping my fingers busy & Christmas stuff

While I am convalescing with my knee, its a bit hard to do a lot of paperarts/mixed media as I can't sit in my studio easily and I can't carry much out to the lounge by my chair.
So............. I have decided to do a bit of 'finishING" some UFOs.
Over 10 years ago I was right into making reproduction etc bears (handmade). I have several that were cut out and in various stages of being completed, when life changed a bit and then I got into scrapbooking etc, which led to the Scrapbook Shoppe etc and here I am today into mixed media in a huge way.  BUT!!!
Here are two that I have decided to try and get finished.

 The tan guy is one I bought at a market in Johannesburg in South Africa. The other is a bear being made from Hembold String Mohair.  So come back and visit and see the completed bears soon.

Hope everyone had a fantastic day today and didn't overindulge too much with all the scrumptious food etc that Christmas day always brings. We had a very quiet day, although the kids were quite hyper most of the day. Victoria woke really early so we kept her out in the lounge so Paul could get a little bit longer shuteye.
They had a good day and were thrilled with all their gifts. Lunch was very modest as I am not eating much at all at the moment (fingers crossed it leads to some lost weight)

Among a lot of gifts, Toria got a Barbie Laptop and is in love with it. She has not stopped playing it all day long, its in her bed with her at the moment too :-)

Paul got a swing bat set and had a ball playing outside with Daddy  (Papa) learning to hit the ball. He also got a few Transformers which he absolutely loves and showed everyone on Skype when we talked with family in NZ. 

So again from our house to yours. Hope you had a fabulous day and I wish you all the best for 2013.

See you back soon to check out some finished Bears, might even be able to finish a few mixed media things that are not too big and requiring of paint etc.

Hospital makes you sleep

Toria taken when they came to visit me in Royal Melbourne Hospital. This was on the Wednesday after my op for my steampunk replaced knee.

Just too much for my little princess. She was missing her Mummy and had to have a cuddle and immediately fell asleep.
I am getting over it, pain is still very high, but it will be worth it in the long run as I can already feel the relief in my knee joint. The staples will be removed tomorrow so that will be interesting and maybe I will be able to bend it a bit easier to get the knee back properly.
The surgeon had referred me to two hospitals, The Maroondah has finally sent me an appointment for the first clinic appointment in June 2013. Thank your RMH for being so much on the ball with doing your operations.
